The SC State Judo Championships
Hi Judo Fans,
The SC State Judo Championships will be June 8th. For this tournament we have a new website and a new venue (Fort Dorchester High School).
The Registration Deadline is June 5th!
The tournament will include Shiai, Kosen, and Kata and as always we are dedicated to ensuring an on-time and well-run event. Because our number of competitors has increased we will divide the competition into two rounds.
Round 1: Pee Wee, Bantam, IJF Juniors, Senior Advanced, Veterans
Round 2: Intermediate 1 & 2, Juvenile A & B, Senior Novice, Senior Intermediate
Please note that weigh-ins for Round 1 will close at 9AM, so that we can have all of the brackets prepared for an 11AM start time. Round 2 weigh-ins will close at 9:45AM and competition will start immediately after Round 1 (approx 1PM). As always you may check-in and weigh-in the night before at the venue from 7-9PM.
The Judo community is a volunteer community. Please ask how you can volunteer to help the event run smoothly. We will have a volunteer training session Friday night once the mats mats are set up. Parents are encouraged to volunteer and players should volunteer for any round they are not playing in.
Referees! Sensei Joon Chi will be hosting a referee training from 6-9PM at the venue Friday night. We will have a Regional Referee certification during the event. Anyone interested should contact me.
